This was one of our first DADU projects in Seattle, back in 2013. At the time, the city capped DADUs at 800 sq. ft., required on-site parking, forced owners to live in one of the units, and banned them from being sold separately.
Times sure have changed.
The homeowner wanted another source of income, so we designed a creative and affordable DADU to maximize rental potential. From permit to completion, the project took just six months. Looking back, it feels special to have been part of the early DADU story in Seattle.
