Back in 2007, the City of Shoreline allowed multi-cottage developments — a bold and forward-thinking approach to city planning.
I had the opportunity to build a unique community of detached 1,000 sq ft cottages, each with its own garage and a shared central green space.
The homes sold quickly and still stand today as a great example of innovative design that adds housing without changing the character of the neighborhood.

Even though Shoreline doesn’t allow these types of projects anymore, that build taught me a lot.
It showed me how to design small homes that feel spacious, how to create a real sense of community, and how to make the most of every square foot.
That experience still guides how we plan and build today — with smart design, efficiency, and long-term value in mind.
